about

Tales from the Lighthouse
Lighthouses! Those silent sentinels that stand guard over treacherous rocks and cliffs have so many stories to retell of fables and legends from far away lands carried on winds and waves across the vast oceans.
Tales from the Lighthouse is a three track fingerstyle guitar driven world fusion instrumental EP inspired by Norah Head Lighthouse on the Central Coast of New South Wales in Australia.
“Souk” brings to life the bustling markets of the Arab world. Acoustic guitars, the Saz, Riq, guitar percussion shakers and hand claps.
“Kabuliwala”- this famous short story by the great Indian Nobel laureate poet and writer, Rabindranath Tagore moved me so deeply when i first read it as a schoolboy. It is the story of a vendor of dry fruit from Kabul traveled every year to Calcutta to sell his wares and befriends the writers little daughter. A melancholic tale with a tragic twist. Acoustic guitars, the traditional mountain dulcimer [Santur], shakers.
“Jali” are traditional West African story-tellers and bards who sing their songs accompanied by the beautiful African harp-lute known as the Kora. Acoustic guitars, Kora, Dunun [West African drum], Ngoni [traditional African harp]
